# Speak2mail

> Speak2mail is voice dictation for Gmail with an AI email writer built in. It composes, it doesn't transcribe: say your reply in rough words, and a professional email appears in the Gmail thread, matched to the conversation and ready to send after your review.

## Overview

Speak2mail is a Chrome extension that works inside Gmail. The user speaks the point of their reply in their own words; the extension reads the open thread and writes the full professional reply (greeting, structure, tone matched to the conversation) directly in the compose window. Unlike plain dictation tools it does not type words verbatim, and unlike generic AI writers the draft is built from what the user actually said. Nothing sends automatically; the user reviews every draft.

- Context-aware replies: reads the open thread and turns the user's spoken point into a complete professional email
- Voice editing: select any part of the draft and say the change ("shorter", "warmer", "mention the invoice"); only that part changes
- Two AI rewriting levels: Full (applies the user's custom writing style) or Minimal (keeps the user's exact words and only fixes punctuation and structure)
- Speech recognition in 100+ languages and dialects; replies can be sent in the recipient's language
- Back-translation check: one click shows the finished email in the user's own language before sending
- Nothing lost on failure: if generation ever fails, everything dictated is pasted into the email as is
- Privacy: reads the open thread to write the reply and stores none of it; no speech or email content is kept
